About

The key element in a logistics chain is TRANSPORTATION system, which joints the separated activities. TRANSPORTATION occupies one-third of the amount in the logistics costs and TRANSPORTATION systems influence the performance of logistics system.

This is transportaion management

transportation management is a one set of activity in a logistical area.

Rail Transportation

many advantages when we use rail transportation one of that is Capacity, Trains are capable of carrying larger number of passengers and greater volumes of goods that other means of transportation cannot handle

Sea Transportation

Ship transport is watercraft carrying people (passengers) or goods (cargo). Sea transport has been the largest carrier of freight throughout recorded history. Although the importance of sea travel for passengers has decreased due to aviation, it is effective for short trips and pleasure cruises. Transport by water is cheaper than transport by air, despite fluctuating exchange rates and CAF charges to account for such.

Containerization

many benefits of containerization one of that is Door-to-Door (House-to-House)- The greatest benefits of Containerization are realized when the shipper uses the container to carry goods directly from his or her premises to his or her customer's location. Perhaps the only time the container will be opened while enroute is for Customers inspection. Reduced susceptibility to pilferage and theft, elimination of multiple handling of individual items of cargo and the least possible exposure to the elements are all attractive features of Door-to-Door service. In utilizing this type of service, the shipper accepts the additional responsibility' of ensuring that cargo is properly stowed and secured in the container, precluding damage to the cargo, container or transport vehicle

Air transportation

The movement of passengers and cargo by aircraft such as airplanes and helicopters. Air transportation has become the primary means of common-carrier traveling. Greatest efficiency and value are obtained when long distances are traveled, high-value payloads are moved, immediate needs must be met, or surface terrain prevents easy movement or significantly raises transport costs. Although the time and cost efficiencies obtained decrease as distance traveled is reduced, air transport is often worthwhile even for relatively short distances. Air transportation also provides a communication link, which is sometimes vital, between the different groups of people being served.

World's Longest Natural Gas Pipelines

Petroleum  and Natural Gas Industry is one of the top rank industry that are still in growth and develop to more and more beneficial in generate income of country. Over the past half century, the world’s energy-economy has been shaped by the politics of building and protecting large oil pipelines spanning thousands and thousands of miles.

So, the petroleum is one of liquid that transport by pipe. Same goes to natural gas as one of commodities that to be haul by this kind of mode of transportation. Pipeline transport is one of the types of transportation mode which transport, deliver or send the specific goods through a pipe . Commonly, liquids and gases are sent by this mode.  In many ways, who controls the pipeline is as important as who controls the oil.

Now, a new generation of mega pipeline is being built to bring massive amounts of natural gas from some of the most remote regions of the world to many of the most densely populated center of commerce and industry. The mega size of pipe gives the advantage to haul the commodities in high volume, so that the shipper can achieve economies of scale.

According to GE’s Txchnologist, There are 10 longest natural gas pipelines on the earth.
1.     West-East Pipeline
a.     Length: 5,410 miles
b.     Start: Xinjiang, China
c.      Finish: Shanghai
2.     GASUN Pipeline (planned)
a.     Length: 3,100 miles
b.     Places: Starts in Bolivia
c.      Ends in Brazil
